Photographing the world around me has been an innate part of who I am for so long that I couldn’t even tell you when I started. I am a photographer as much as I am a daughter, a sister, a dog mom, a partner and a friend.
I was born into a Portuguese-American family on the east coast and was lucky enough to spend most of my childhood summers visiting my family in Portugal. I would spend hours and hours going through my vovo's (grandmother's) old family albums. Carefully spreading out the analog photos of years past across her dining room table. Asking her to re-tell the same old stories from before my time in hopes of absorbing every detail.
But, it wasn't until I experienced the sudden loss of my father at twenty years old that I learned just how fleeting and fragile life is. It's a painful truth that one day we wake up and the most important people in our lives, are gone. What's left behind are the memories, their legacy and their stories. It's the photos that keep them close, saudade is the love that remains.

I'm inspired by my couples and clients, by the unique and beautiful connection they have. By their stories, resilience, and perseverance. I'm inspired by love always winning in the end.
I'm inspired by those who live unapologetically themselves. Who love out loud and live outside the box. Their individuality and their strong sense of self.
I'm inspired by rule breakers who don't adhere to traditions, and risk takers with a sense of wonder and thirst for adventure.
I'm inspired by artists who make things with their hands and create something out of nothing. Those who can make a three course meal out of left overs in the fridge. Those who look at a blank canvas and can envision a master piece. Those who make art on skin and those who put ink to paper.
I'm inspired by those who are soft spoken and sweet. Those who feel deeply and love softly. Those who who would trade going out for staying in. Those who read more books than they watch t.v. and end a long day with a cup of tea.

MY APPROACH

Clients come first always.
Connecting with my clients is an integral part of my process. I want to get to know them as much as possible before shooting their wedding. I always send a get to know me questionnaire so I get an inside look at their personalities, their vibe and what they are envisioning for their wedding or session.
I'm an open book and always down to give input on whatever they need from me. We swap pintrest boards, we follow each other on social media (if they want!) and I always get back to emails within 24 hours or less.
Shooting
After getting to know my clients I'm able to approach their session with a vision or vibe in mind. While I focus on in-between moments I am a hands on photographer when it comes to direction, I'll always put you in the best light and give you prompts that create genuine moments. This may be hard to imagine, but I promise its fun. Most of my clients say they're awkward in front of the camera and they end up being absolute pros.
Editing
I handle everything in house form start to finish, I'm a one woman show. My editing style is nostalgic, cinematic and rich. I want your photos to feel timeless and emotive and the editing process is a major part in achieving that.

Andreia was such a joy to work with. My husband and I are not comfortable in front of a camera at all, and I didn’t want staged looking, cheesy photos. I gave her some reference pictures and told her my vision of “secret pictures at a dinner party”. I wanted them to have an elevated, intimate look. I could not be happier with how they turned out. They were everything I had hoped. On top of that, Andreia is SO fun. We shot some pictures for an engagement shoot to get comfortable in front of the camera and I could not recommend doing that enough.
