An Amaterra Winery wedding is perfect for anyone who wants to celebrate Oregon’s natural beauty without sacrificing a modern aesthetic. This Portland wedding venue offers amazing drinks and stunning views for an unforgettable wedding experience. Michelle and Tom’s wedding featured joyful moments against the beautiful backdrop.
An Amaterra Winery wedding is elegant and modern. Instead of rustic wine barrels, you get sweeping views and contemporary architecture. It’s a dreamy venue for people who like to enjoy great drinks outdoors.
This wedding venue has four primary spaces that are used on wedding days.
Amaterra Winery has potential to host a large wedding tailored to your style. Here are some helpful details if you’re thinking of getting married here:
If you like the idea of a more intimate micro wedding, Amaterra offers those, too! Just ask them about their elopement package.
Unlike a lot of wineries, Amaterra is located in Portland city limits in West Haven-Sylvan.It’s just a thirteen-minute drive from Downtown Portland. With acres of forest around, it feels like you’re way outside the city.
Tom and Michelle had been together for almost a decade at the time of their Amaterra Winery wedding. They met at the University of Oregon and have spent most of their relationship here with the exception of a two-year stint in L.A. It made sense for them to get married that celebrates the state’s natural beauty.
When I tell you this wedding had great wine and greater views, I’m not exaggerating. Everyone talked about how stunning the ceremony space was. The incredible floral installations made it feel even more magical.
This Amaterra Winery wedding included some Jewish traditions as well. Michelle and Tom signed a ketubah, stepped on a glass at the end of the ceremony, and – everyone’s favorite – danced the horah at their reception. I loved documenting their joy as their family and friends lifted them up in their chairs. They were so in the moment.
Before their Amaterra Winery wedding, I asked Michelle and Tom what drew them to my work. Here’s what Michelle shared:
“You do an amazing job portraying couples’ emotions through the camera! When I look through your photos, it makes me feel like I’m a part of the celebration. I also just love the style of your photography, the contrasting colors, your use of film and digital… I love it all!”
Michelle and Tom immediately identified the core of my work – preserving moments with artistry and authenticity. When you look at these wedding photos, you get a sense of what it was like to be in the moment with Michelle and Tom. The laughter, kisses, and dance moves are all genuine. They’ll be able to look at these photos years from now and relive the feelings of their wedding day.
Michelle told me that, when she and Tom looked back on her wedding photos, “we want to feel nostalgia and happiness because the photos are bringing us right back to that day. We like seeing photos of ourselves happy and in the moment.” That’s exactly what these photos preserve.
