Hannah and Rian’s wedding took place at Lodge at Marconi, a unique venue overlooking Tomales Bay in Marin County, California. The property sits on 62 acres inside Marconi State Historic Park, about an hour north of San Francisco, and it’s one of those venues that feels both modern and deeply connected to the landscape around it.
What makes Lodge at Marconi especially perfect for weddings is that it functions as both a venue and a retreat. With accommodations on site, couples can host an entire weekend of events without guests needing to travel between locations. That’s exactly what Hannah and Rian did, and it created a really relaxed, community-focused atmosphere throughout the celebration.
Spending the entire weekend documenting the celebration meant I got to watch friendships deepen, families connect, and the anticipation slowly build toward the wedding day.
By the time the ceremony arrived, it felt like one big family gathering.
Lodge at Marconi offers a mix of natural landscape and modern amenities. It feels secluded, surrounded by hills, trees, and open space. At the same time, the lodge itself has a clean, modern design with comfortable accommodations for guests staying on site.
The A-frame on the property was where Hannah & Rian got ready for their wedding, the space was so thoughtfully designed and had amazing natural light (photographers dream). One of my favorite features is how the property allows different parts of the wedding to happen in different locations without anyone needing to leave the venue. Hannah and Rian were able to host their rehearsal dinner, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and after party all within the Lodge at Marconi grounds.
For couples planning a wedding in the Bay Area, the location is also super convenient! It’s about an hour north of SFO and within driving distance of Sonoma wine country, which makes it accessible for both local and traveling guests. With many nearby outdoor activities, guests are sure to find some fun use of downtime around Tamales Bay!

The wedding weekend began with a rehearsal dinner atMabel’s, the restaurant located on the Lodge at Marconi property. The space has a really relaxed feel, with a wraparound porch and views of the surrounding hills. It worked well as a casual starting point for the weekend, giving guests a chance to mingle and relax before the wedding day.

The ceremony took place on Tower Hill, which overlooks Tomales Bay and is one of the most scenic locations on the property.
Guests walked up from the lodge to the ceremony site, where the view opens up across the bay and surrounding coastline. The setting is simple but striking, and it creates a natural focal point for the ceremony and for portraits afterwards! Could not get enough of this view, truly.

After the ceremony, guests walked back down the hill for cocktail hour and dinner by Buck Hall. Hannah and Rian poured so much love and creativity into the details of their wedding.
Rian, a designer, created nearly every piece of printed material for the day. The invitation suite was especially memorable: a custom risograph printed zine featuring childhood photos, stories about their relationship, and other mementos.
From menus and signage to coasters, candles, matches, and design elements throughout the space, every detail felt cohesive, intentional, and deeply personal. The florals perfectly reflected the surrounding landscape. Wild, abundant arrangements filled the tables with color and movement, creating an atmosphere that felt natural and effortless rather than overly formal.

Weddings have a way of becoming their own little ecosystems. A gathering of stories, memories, and people who shape the lives of two individuals. Hannah and Rian’s wedding at Lodge at Marconi felt exactly like that. Not fussy. Not performative. Just deeply joyful and full of love.
A celebration that reflected not only who they are as a couple, but the incredible community surrounding them. And honestly, I would photograph a wedding here again in a heartbeat. If you are getting married at Lodge At Marconi, contact me here, let’s chat!
