Where do you get married when you want your wedding to have editorial moments with vintage inspiration? In Portland, you head to Coopers Hall! Kristy and Brandon’s winery wedding was effortlessly cool and fun. Their film wedding photos are the cherry on the piped cake.
For their Portland winery wedding, Kristy and Brandon hosted their guests at Coopers Hall. This urban winery is located in SE Portland and has a big focus on sustainability. Because it’s an active winery, the space has a cool mix of industrial and rustic touches. I love the bright light that streams through the tall windows onto the ceremony space.
You can see another wedding at Coopers Hall and learn more about the venue in this blog post.
Before the wedding, Kristy and Brandon got ready just a few blocks away at Hotel Grand Stark. This aesthetic hotel has so many cool details. The rooms are minimalist but warm and bright. Funky details bring color and character too. The green tile wall is one of my favorite backdrops in this space.
In a lot of ways, Brandon and Kristy’s winery wedding mirrored their ideal date night. They love hitting up new restaurants around Portland and grabbing cocktails and dessert at a swanky bar. Their bold wedding design gave Cooper’s Hall the atmosphere of a trendy bar with lots of vintage-inspired details. Their palette included pops of red, peach, and pink. They really stood out in this super urban venue.
Their palette and vintage details carried to their cake and favors as well. The cake had vintage piping and bright red maraschino cherries. As favors, Krisy and Brandon ordered custom matchbooks, too. I love the story you can see in the photo of the matchbooks sitting beside Kristy’s sparkly purse and champagne coupe.
For their winery wedding photos, Kristy and Brandon wanted to prioritize high contrast, editorial film photography. That’s kind of my thing, so I was really excited to go all in on film, flash, and fun lighting. The whole event was so effortlessly cool. Film photography was the perfect way to preserve the energy.
When I began working with Kristy and Brandon, I asked them how they want to feel when they look back on their wedding photos in ten years. Their answer aligns so well with the photos we created. They said, “That we were young, in love, filled with excitement and brimming with the hopefulness of our future life. That it was an electric and giddy time!” I’d say we nailed it!
